I decided to write this after scrolling through the comments of a video someone had posted of SANO absolutely bombing out a public transport train. Many people seemed upset and/or disgusted by his actions, calling it vandalism, and not graffiti. With all due respect to those people’s opinions, you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. Graffiti as an art form started out, and generally continues to be, an illegal art form. Whether its bombing, painting panels at the yard, or painting a bando, graffiti is generally a crime. Are there legal and/or commission walls, yes. Do people put up great work at these walls? Absolutely. But that is not the origins, nor the commonplace of graffiti. If you do not like people painting on property that is not theres’s, then i highly recommend you check out r/streetart or r/murals, where you are more likely to find legal walls.
And one more thing before i get off of my soapbox, tags are a part of the fundamentals of graff, if you aren’t a fan of those, then you shouldnt be a part of this sub.
